On July 8, 100 Palestine solidarity protesters rallied in Loring Park next to Highway 94 and then marched through Uptown to mark the one-year anniversary of Israel’s 51-day bombing campaign against Gaza. They took Hennepin Avenue during rush hour traffic to demand an end to U.S. aid to Israel. The Anti-War Committee organized the protest and calls on its supporters to call Senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar to hold them accountable for their support for Israel’s war last summer. The action also launched the Anti-War Committee’s social media campaign #51DaysinGaza, which has the goal of educating and mobilizing people to take action through 51 days of online posts.
