Halloween Witch Hunt

The FBI continues to stoke the fires.
They are determined to burn this witch.
They blew smoke in everyone’s eyes years ago.
They convinced nearly half the population that Hillary is guilty of something.  They couldn’t say what, exactly.
“Emails, maybe.“
“Careless, she used her Blackberry in Russia.”
“Lied.”
“She lied about Benghazi.”  “Not sure of the details on that.”
The FBI has always been political.
And it has always hated Democrats, ever since J. Edgar Hoover tried to man-crush John F. Kennedy.
Hoover tried to intimidate, threaten and destroy Martin Luther King.  He resisted the tides of change.  Hoover and Fred Trump and Donald Trump fought against integration in their own ways.
Comey’s FBI continues that legacy.
What is he trying to do?
Eleven days before the election, Comey told his right-wing friends in Congress that he found some new emails that could provide new information about whether Clinton talked about state secrets in an unprotected internet connection.  Chaffetz, chair of the House Oversight Committee, immediately said, “Case re-opened.”
What’s going on here?
Are they already preparing the Impeachment Trial of Hillary Clinton in the House of Representatives before she’s even been elected?
Didn’t a Republican House try that once before with her husband?
They know they could never impeach her, but that’s not the point.
They’re throwing red meat to their base.
If Hillary wins and the Republicans still control the House, they will probably begin impeachment proceeding to de-legitimize her.  It could get to the point that they say she is so corrupt that a military takeover of the government by citizen patriots might be the only way to restore order.  Mussolini had less justification for his March on Rome, and Hitler had less justification for his Beer Hall Putsch in Munich, than Trump and his right-wing militias and sympathetic police and federal agents could claim to have with congressmen like Chaffetz screaming for her head.  The Bundy brothers just got acquitted for seizing federal property, and their dad was never brought to justice for seizing federal grazing land.  Are the courts ready to legitimize the seizure of federal property by an armed right-wing militia?
At the conclusion of the Salem witch trials in 1692-93, our Pilgrim fathers hung 20 victims (burning at the stake, by this time, had gone out of fashion).  We know now that the passions that inspired this mass murder had much more to do with farmers coveting a single woman’s property than anything to do with supernatural powers.  But our forefathers believed they acted because they hated sin and the devil.
An independent woman was thought to be in league with the devil.
More than anything else, this election is about appointments to the Supreme Court, and the issue that is most critical is the issue of abortion.  Should a woman be able to control her own body?  Christian evangelicals still support Donald Trump, in spite of his behavior as a sexual predator, because he will support appointments to the Supreme Court that will restrict and bind women.  Trump is, perhaps, the best champion of male privilege.  An exemplar of excess, he is the personification of male chauvinism, the perfect antithesis of women’s equality.
Trump has accused Clinton of lying and corruption without any evidence to back it up.  He now claims his campaign of slander and innuendo has been validated with the “re-opening” of the email scandal.  Everyone knows there’s nothing there, but sometimes when people have smoke blown into their eyes, they are willing to believe there’s fire behind it.
And, as the FBI begins again the slow roast of Clinton at the stake, Trump says, “Perhaps finally justice will be done.”
