Reed Sigmund and Adelyn Frost in “Dr. Seuss’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas!”
BY ROSE JAMES
“Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” at the Children’s Theatre Company has something for everyone.
The story is narrated by Max, the Grinch’s long-suffering dog. The performance of Max is so earnest and endearing that the pup will resonate with every age. The whos are wild and silly, yet gentle, Reed Sigmund’s Grinch is bombastic and larger than life. He commands the stage, and comes into the audience for crotchety ad-lib interactions that had my preschooler in stitches.
The play is set in a sparkling snow cave. The blizzard lighting tricks were a standout, and you could hear excited little gasps throughout the theater as those tricks made it seem like the entire stage was being swept away in a storm.
The fun doesn’t stop on the stage. The lobby has a photobooth, grinchy

craft activities, and ball games to keep your little ones entertained before the show even begins.
“Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” is an excellent way to share the magic of theater and the magic of the holidays with your family in one fun package.
