Bertolt Brecht’s “The Resistible Rise Of Arturo Ui” will be presented in a non-traditional space in Seven Points (the former Calhoun Square) in Uptown Minneapolis
Oct. 31 – Nov. 23.
“We first produced Brecht’s “The Resistible Rise Of Arturo Ui” in 2001. We tried to present it again last fall, but we were shut down. Sadly, the play has even more potency at this moment as the current administration digs in. The play chronicles Hitler’s rise to power, told through a filter of Chicago Gangsters in 1930s. Today, watching an authoritarian exert increasing power, feels almost like watching a Brecht play, but even more chilling.”
